My first impression was the fresh clean smell. An absolute must when indulging in Sushi. The menu was robust and they were very accommodating to special orders. The staff was friendly and attentive (love the button on the table that alerts the staff that their presence is needed). The free appetizer was a very nice surprise as well as very tasty. While I'm not a sushi connoisseur, I do recognize good, fresh food of any genre. I order the 3-Roll lunch special; Sweet Potato, Shrimp Tempura and Dynamite Rolls. All were very good. Surprise again... complimentary dessert! It was some type of cheesecake that made for a very delightful end to a wonderful lunch experience. Will definitely be returning and bringing all my friends/family.

This is an awesome place. Frequented the one in Elkridge and was so excited that one was coming right down the street from where I live! The customer service is amazing in and of itself and the food is just absolutely incredible. I haven't had anything that I didn't love (which makes it difficult because then I just want to eat everything once I come!) and everyone that I've brought here has absolutely loved it. I would give if ten stars if I could.

We love this place! They have an amazing assortment of sushi. Hands down the best sushi we've ever had and not just in Owings Mills, the best ever. We go here at least once a week. April and all of the staff are so kind and attentive. Two thumbs way up!

Food was good but service was horrendous! It took us an hr to get our food when the restaurant was half full. Not sure what we ordered that was so complex? The explanation given was that we ordered sushi and not rolls! Wow.

BY FAR THE BEST SUSHI IN THE OWINGS MILLS/ REISTERSTOWN AREA!!! We've been searching for a sushi place to be call our favorite since we moved to the area in the Fall. Tonight we found it. The Appetizer was great! The rolls were delicious! I really can't say enough good about them. The miso was great and free btw. They also gave us a free appetizer to try in addition to the one we ordered. And they also gave us two little pieces of cheesecake for dessert. The decor was simple, elegant and clean. The one warning I will give is that there is no alcohol, so bring your own saki or plum wine. Still, it's really all about the sushi and outside of what I had in Japan, this is some of the best I've ever had! Will definitely be back!!!!

Just go. You won't be disappointed. Such a great deal and delicious. Great lunch specials. Soup and salad! And free appetizer and tiny piece of cake for dessert.

Fan-fishin-tastic. I'd been keeping an eye on this place after reading the great reviews for it's Elkridge location and was thrilled when I finally saw the open sign and even more thrilled after eating there! They greet you with an amuse bouche of a delicately crisp fish and sometimes soup too! Good times already Sushi Q. Keep it coming! The sushi is exceptionally fresh and clean, well-seasoned rice with great texture, and a LOT of choices. The basic rolls were solid and satisfying-- spicy tuna is a good marker for me of quality b/c it's so easy to disguise crappy fish with lots of sriracha, but theirs is nuanced and light, spicy, but you can still really taste the fish and the effect of the fantastic knife work too! The philly roll, which i usually find too heavy, was well balanced with crunchy, fresh cucumber, a beautiful smoke, and just a touch of tangy cream cheese. California roll is perfect. Real crab. Nuff said. But they get really creative with their speciality rolls and appetizers and this is where the experience gets interesting. I've now had two dishes that came with LED's on the plate so basically I will love them forever! The Sexy jalapeño appetizer is probably the best jalapeño popper i have ever tasted. It's a fresh jalapeño stuffed with minced tuna and cream cheese and lightly fried. OMG. it's the way you never knew jalapeño poppers were always supposed to be. The Hawaii roll is a MUST HAVE. I'm still thinking about it a week later. Tuna, yellow tail, Salmon, mango and cucumber wrapped in the pink soy paper, and topped with a very thin slice of kiwi and a drop of a spicy mayo and roe. you don't know. you can't. that thin slice of kiwi combined with the creamy fish, the crunch of the cucumber and the hit of heat at the end...it's just bursting with freshness and flavor. also, the plating is beautiful and playful with palm trees painted on with chef sauce :) For a small restaurant in a small business park, they're turning out some of the best sushi in an area with A LOT of sushi options. Great attention to detail, pride in their work and a genuinely friendly environment.

Great sushi, awesome lunch deals. The appetizer is also amazing. If you dine-in lunch it comes with soup, salad, your "rolls," appetizers and a slice of small cheesecake. You don't get the appetizer or cheesecake if you take out! But still the go to sushi place

From the minute you start your meal with a free (and delicious!) appetizer, you know you're in for a treat. Take your time with the menu. There are so many choices and each roll is clearly made with love. Each roll has it's own unique flavor. We have been multiple times now, giving us the chance to try many different dishes. The sushi is our favorite and our children enjoy some of the cooked options and (of course) the little cheesecake dessert. The staff is attentive and the food superb. This restaurant will continue to be one of our go-tos.

Best sushi in the area, hands down. The fish was so fresh and the portions were HUGE. I could barely finish mine... so the Fiance got the rest, haha. We'll be back, for sure!

Fantastically fresh sushi. Great roll options, might be a bit overwhelming for some. Try the Hot Hot Roll with steamed shrimp instead of the tempura shrimp listed. A great sushi option in the Owings Mills area.

My fiancé and I just moved to the area so we were in search of a good sushi/hibachi spot. We decided to get carry out and we have never been this impressed with carry out hibachi. I got chicken and he got chicken and shrimp. The hibachi meal came with clear soup and a house salad. They also gave us a free sushi roll which was delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly and there was a good variety of vegetables including zucchini, mushrooms, and broccoli. The fried rice was also great. The salad dressing was okay, not the best I've ever had. Their yum yum sauce was also good but not the best I've ever had. The free sushi was the best part! I couldn't tell exactly what was in it but I did see crab, avocado, and cream cheese. The outside was tempura breaded and fried. Yum! We will definitely be regular customers.

Saw a 5-star Yelp rating within 5 minutes of my drive back to PA and I HAD to stop in. unfortunately the acclaimed lunch special was available every day but Sundays. I was pretty bummed about this. Nevertheless, the food was good. For $16, though, I wouldn't go back. I got the Salmon roll and Salmon maki. The salmon is nice and buttery. The rice is of very prime quality. It is surprisingly savory. The portion were large enough. Sure, the meals come with a small appetizer and small dessert. But, I can't let that cloud my judgement. These were. minor, peripheral additions to the meal. My brother and I were both not blown away by our meals. And at the price, I can't in good conscious heartily recommend this spot when you've got the masters at Hummus Corner not to far away along with some incredible pizza. If you're hungry for a sushi lunch, go to Ginza in Owings Mills. They have a $10 buffet where the sushi is just slightly lower quality with a much better bang for your buck.

Had some sushi rolls, tuna tartar app, salmon tsunami which is like a tuna tartar but with salmon n hangover soup. They gave complementary clear soup n imitation crab apps. The sushi rolls was alright...could have been better grade fish but still ok. They give complementary dessert.

We have now been to Sushi Q about 8 times and it has been awesome every time! The sushi is fresh, delicious and creative. Plus the prices are very reasonable and the waitstaff is friendly and attentive. It blows all other Owings Mills sushi places out of the water because of the quality and price. I'm thrilled we finally have a great local sushi option!

Really great sushi. Best in Maryland by far. Highly recommend both eat in and carry out. Very reasonably priced.

I was super excited to try out this location, as I absolutely love Sushi Q at their Elkridge location. Unfortunately, the two rolls I ordered were disgusting and I ended up throwing them away. I ordered the sweet potato roll and the avocado inari roll. The sweet potato was under-cooked and several pieces had raw potato! There was barely any tempura batter. The inari in the second roll was squishy and wet, it was just nasty and made me gag. I've ordered rolls like this before at their other location but never once had this experience.

  • Linda N.

This sushi spot is a must try! The sushi is fresh and inventive. If you are "afraid" or new to sushi, they have a variety of tempura options. The calamari salad was amazing and the habachi is one of the best I have ever eaten. Oh, and not only do you get a FREE appetizer and a FREE desert, but there is a button on the table for when you need assistance. Price- $$ (portions are big, don't let your stomach do the ordering!) Quality-5/5 Service-4/5 (waitress spoke very limited English, made asking questions about the menu challenging)

  • Ariana F.

This food is lit. Waitresses are attentive, food is fast, presentation is amazing, and the prices don't hurt my wallet after eating my weight in sushi. I love this place and recommend it to everyone. I'm one of those people who are just getting into sushi and am "scared" of trying new ones, but I know anything I eat here I will love! Also the free appetizer when I dine in and the occasional free roll thrown in when I order carry out is the icing on the cake. Having it right in my backyard is a dream come true!

I'm hereby putting all Owings Mills/Reisterstown/Pikesville area sushi restaurants on high alert: step up your game or Sushi Q is gonna leave you in the dust. In the 14 years I've lived in this area, I've tried nearly every sushi spot with varying degrees of success, and I'm pleased to say it doesn't get much better than this. April and her staff are efficient, well-trained, and masters of excellent customer service. I'm writing this review after stopping in twice, and each encounter made me feel like a beloved regular. Don't let the strip mall location fool you; this place has food to rival and beat any of the more expensive locations in the area. During my first visit this past Saturday night, our party of five walked in to a packed house, but fortunately only had to wait a few minutes for a table to leave before we were seated. The menus were extensive (and heavy! I feel bad for the waitstaff having to haul them around) and colorful, which was a nice touch. My wife was pleased by the bountiful offering of vegetarian offerings, and the prices were fantastic, which pleased me immensely. On to the important bits: FOOD! We were presented with a free Sushi Q appetizer since it was our first time in, and I think I could honestly make a meal out of two orders of that and a side of rice. It's deep fried crab with a cream cheese and signature sauce, which may sound odd, but it's delicious and a great way to start the meal. Next came the miso soups, which were wonderfully savory (weak-sauce miso soup makes me rage), and more appetizers of gyoza, fried calamari, and steamed edamame. Let's talk about these appetizers for a minute, because I feel that they deserve a special mention. Let's talk about that tender calamari that was better prepared than places I've been in Little Italy. Let's talk about how those crispy, succulent gyoza beat out what were my current favorites (those being the ones served in FujiYama). Let's talk about the fact that you could taste how fresh those edamame were and how they weren't heavy-handed with the salt. Or we could skip it and you can just eat it yourself. Yes. Do that. For the main course I ordered two avocado rolls (my baseline standard) and a specialty roll called the Spicy RiQ, which contained eel, cream cheese, crabmeat, avocado, and tamago (egg omelette) which was fried and drizzled with their signature sauce. It shut me up. Everyone at the table watched my expression, waiting for my opinion, but I couldn't stop indulging in the flavors long enough to say a word. I swallowed, looked at their expectant faces...and promptly popped another piece in my mouth because why talk when I could be shoving this manna from heaven into my mouth? (One of my friends allowed me to taste a piece of their Alaska roll, which is not on any of my favorite sushi rolls list, but hot damn that was good.) Here was the absolute stunner though: the sweet potato roll. "But Tiff" you may ask, "what's so special about sweet potato wrapped up in rice?" And I'd stroke my chin thoughtfully and reply like this: "Have you ever come back to your parents' house after you've moved out and discovered that they redecorated while you were away? Your folks are still there, and it has that warm, safe feeling that home should have, and yet it's still drastically different and exciting? That's what this roll is like. It's the sweet, comforting taste of the sweet potato you grew up with, but they did something to it that just makes it magical." The meal wrapped up with a dessert of cheesecake that almost made me weep with joy. Instead of a graham cracker crust, it rested on a fluffy cloud of sponge cake. It was delicate, not to sweet, and no where near as heavy as most cheesecakes. I meant to ask if it was Japanese cotton cheesecake, but alas, I forgot. Guess I have an excuse to go back now, hehehe.

Really shocked how great this sushi spot is for being in Owings Mills. The salmon and tuna is always super soft, slimy, and delicious. They provide us an appetizer since we come in a few times each week and order for the entire office. Penny is our favorite Waitress and we suggest everybody in the area to find this new hidden gem. The pick 2 for lunch is a great deal as well and the hibachi is delicious.

Excellent addition to the Owings Mills area. We have a great experience. Friendly and attentive staff, free appetizers and a dessert, and delicious sushi rolls and hibachi. We will be back very soon!

Great addition to Owings Mills for sushi! The sushi is very fresh. They also give you freebies even though I pass on them as its typically not very good to me. The freebies change frequently. There is a nice selection of sushi, appetizers and Hibachi. After frequenting the main location in Elkridge, I am happy to have this one close to home.

Very good Got a bunch of different stuff They combined it into their specials to get us money off The polar opposite of what Yuki Sushi does They do everything to screw you out of any extra they can The sushi was amazing The menu is extensive Spotless Very friendly They were cutting up whole fresh fish instead of pre bought fillets. I'm so glad New Town has a good sushi place I'll be back over and over

I'd like to say that my sushi standards are high and once I tried this place, I was highly impressed. I ordered take out, but while I was waiting the staff was very friendly. I was served a glass or water and even an appetizer (tasted like a fried crab stick) while I waited for my order. I order the spicy scallop roll and the Volcano roll. Both were amazing!!! So rich and creamy and full of flavor. Definitely can't wait to try some of their other specialty rolls. It doesn't help that they're so close to my residence. I will definitely be a regular customer at this place!!!

  • Josh C.

This place opened not long ago, and it easily took over as our preferred local sushi restaurant. I will typically order yellowtail, salmon, and a specialty roll. The "Million Roll" is amazing if you like tuna. Whether we're dining in or taking out, they'll usually throw in a free roll. This is a nice touch although honestly it's usually not the kind of thing we're into (usually it's a crispy spicy roll of some sort). Great service, great food, five stars.

  • Duron T. B.

Excellent Food, Excellent Service! It's too bad the stars max at 5.. else I'd give this place a 10!

I was in the mood for some sushi (as always) and wanted to try this place out. When I walked inside the restaurant I was immediatley greeted. They handed me a menu which had many different options for both raw and cooked sushi. I placed my order and sat down at the little bar area. They brought me out some water and an appetizer to try while I waited. The appetizer was good as well as the sushi. I would definitley come back here...this is definitley one of the better sushi restaurants in the area.

This place is really cute inside, and the sushi is really good. We've been here at least a dozen times and never had an issue with the food. theres definitely a limited menu for prepared foods, but after all, this is a sushi place. the staff is nice and friendly, its always very clean inside, and we've ordered for pick up a couple times and they never left anything out so thats good. I definitely recommend this location for dining in. And check out the specials, they are always good.

Such a stylish, amazing place! Sushi is delicious... There are many many options of what to choose... And the people are beyond kind! They even gave me a free sample of their SushiQ appetizer while I waited for my order! I'm so glad I stopped in... Welcome to the neighborhood!

I am a big sushi lover, love the rice and raw fish combo. I saw all the 5-star review on Sushi Q2 and found out it's only 5 minutes away from where I live, I jumped in my car and drove there for dinner. First of all, the free appetizer is basically deep fried imitation crab stick cut in half. You can buy a bag of 20 from any Asian supermarket for $1.99 a bag so that's not something to write home about. Then comes the soup. My soup came with some over cooked udon noodles in the bowl so I strongly suspect it's just leftover from someone else's bowl. Now let's talk about the main food I came for, sushi. Yes the sushi portion was very good, but the freshness and the taste of rice is just not right. In one sentence, had better sushi, not going back. Update: After reading the response from the restaurant. I feel sorry for them. They obviously have no clue what they are doing wrong (hint: think quality food and fresh taste!) YES, I have had better food elsewhere. YES, I did go to your restaurant and ate there. NO, your food is not up to par. NO, I do not work in restaurant business, I was not born to tell you that your food is not great. What I have is pure passion for food. Even if your free crab stick appetizer cost you $8 a pack, why would it matter to me when it tastes like what I can buy for $2 a pack? I drive by sushi Q2 almost every other day, have I even, for once thought about going back? Absolutely NO.

I have been a longtime fan of Sushi Q and when I found out that a new location was opening right near where I live, I was very excited. This location lives up to the quality of the original with amazing service that puts other restaurants to shame. I have started coming here almost weekly and plan to continue until someone throws me an intervention.

What a treat to get a great sushi place in Owings Mills. We've been regularly going out of our way to eat at Sushi Q in Elkridge. Just recently we realized that now there is a "2" here and the sushi is just as good. Would be nice if they served alcohol but a byob policy is ok.

  • Jonathan S.

The best sushi restaurant in Baltimore may secretly be outside the city limits. Sushi Q2 is great in so many ways! Ambience is hip, service is very attentive (but not annoyingly so), prices are reasonable, and sushi is excellent! They have a huge selection of creative sushi rolls. They could probably even cut back a bit on options so as not to overwhelm. Also the quality of the fish is very good for an east coast restaurant. For example, you can actually taste the tuna in their spicy tuna roll. Also, the staff was friendly enough to throw in a couple extra free goodies (crab tempura with chef sauce and soy sauce, miso soup, and a delicious after dinner cake). I will be coming back and bringing friends!

  • M G.

Stopped here based on Yelp reviews and I agree wholeheartedly with the consensus; this place is great! The dining room is clean and bright. The staff was helpful and accomodating. Our sushi was beautifully prepared and the fish was fresh and firm in all raw dishes ordered. The free appetizer brought to the table (a new dish being auditioned, perhaps) was an unexpected surprise. An added bonus was the staff's understanding of dietary restrictions (celiac) and willingness to make appropriate suggestions. Highly recommended.

My new favorite restaurant in the area. I am so excited this opened up down the street from me. The ingredients are very fresh and they have a great selection of rolls. The baked and fried rolls are definitely guilty pleasures!
